Definition of iridescence 1 : a lustrous rainbow-like play of color caused by differential refraction of light waves (as from an oil slick or soap bubble) that tends to change as the angle of view changes. 2 : a lustrous or attractive quality or effect. Difficult to capture on camera, this magic scarf is exactly that. This effect is achieved by carefully threading four colors (blue, pink, green and red) in a certain order. Tedious, but the results are worth it. This scarf is woven with 100% cotton from Holland. The hand is crisper than silk, but the sheen is very similar. Gorgeous stuff.

Care: Hand wash in cool water. Do not wring out. Lay it over a rod to drip dry, light press with pressing cloth on cotton setting, as needed. For the rod, you can use a piece of pvc or broomstick. Mine fits nicely over my shower enclosure. You can also place a towel over a clothesline to cushion the scarf so there is no crease for the line. Some bleeding of the dye is normal in dark, strong colors such as these.
