She’s here… she’s here!! She’s on my lap as I type.
I brought Aggie home on Wednesday! She’ll get to go back and visit her mom, sister and one brother on Saturday when we go for a bbq. Actually she’ll see at least her mom and sister quite often as they live down the road and we’re friends.
She’s been a great girl already. I have a big basket on my side of the bed. She whimpers to go out at about 2am. We do our business and she goes right back to sleep until 6am. Even though the basket has been serving as her crate (just easier for me to sitck my hand down and reassure her at night) we’ll start real crate training on Monday. We’re huge believers in this method after we crate trained Bailey and I have yet to meet a vet that doesn’t think it’s the way to go. I’ve already introduced her to it for a few naps but I wanted to her to feel comfortable with us and in her new home first. She hasn’t had one accident in the house yet. She went everywhere with me yesterday in a doggie tote bag. She slept so much no one even knew she was there. Good girl.
Our friends that we got Aggie from have a little girl named Lucy. She looks adorable in hats so I’m making her the Fiber Trends Garden Party Hat.
It will be perfect on Lucy. I started the brim the other night. Here’s how far I’ve gotten:
I’m knitting it with none other than Elann’s Highland Wool. Speaking of Elann… they have a great line up for the month of November. I just got my knittable swatches yesterday. The new Highland Silk is some gorgeous stuff. It does have a sheen to it due to the silk content.
I’m also working on a V-neck sweater for Dan with Highland Wool in the darker denim color. The exact name slips my mind at the moment. I think this may end up being one of his favorite comfy sweaters to just hang out in. It’s just a basic wide V-neck with a band of ribbing that will go up the sides and down the inside of the sleeves. Of course, I’m knitting it in the round so it’s a pretty simple knit so far. Kind of hard to make out the ribbing before it’s been blocked but here’s a picture for proof anyway:

Oh how adorable….look at that little nose. You just can’t do anything when they look as sweet as that. Has she had all her jabs so that you can go walkies in the big world? What fun!
Jean! I’m in love with Aggie, what a sweet face! We crate train all our dogs. We have a German Shepherd and Red Heeler now. One of our female Rotties loved her crate so much that even after she outgrew it, she’d put herself to bed in it at night with head and legs hanging out. And it was the largest size. :-}

Aggie is adorable. Will she have a tiny A&M sweater for the winter? (I’m sure there is a Highland Wool in the right burgundy/maroon shade!) I think I automatically check the Elann website whenever I go online just to see what’s new. Herrschners also has some good deals on Debbie Bliss and LanaGrosso right now and I’m currently knitting felted handpuppets (from Knits From the Heart) for my 4 young nephews and baby niece using Valley Yarns Berkshire from Webs/yarn.com. It is very soft and knits up fast. Unfelted, the puppets make warm (and fun!) hats (I wore one for Halloween while I sat on the porch freezing) so I’ll probably be making more than just the 5 gifts.
Hi Aggie! Oh, such a sweet face. I crate trained Java. 10 years later the crate is still set up (sans door) and it serves as ‘her room’. When she’s tired and wants to be left alone, that’s where she goes.
Oh……she really is such a cutie!! Your family is going to have so much fun with her. Cavaliers are more like children than dogs.

What a cutie! You make me wish my new pup was ready to be picked up but he is jus shy of 3 weeks. He certainly will never be a lap dog, full grown he will be about 150 lbs. Yours make me want a little gdog too.
I don’t think I’ve seen a sweeter puppy in my life! I just want to pick her up and give her some cuddle loves. She’s going to be very happy (and spoiled) I’m sure!! Congrats on your new addition.

OMG I want to love her and hug her and squeeze her. She’s perfect!! Crate training is wonderful. We did it with Chili and even now he loves his crate. We took the door off and he just goes in there at night to sleep.. and during naps. it’s his “safety zone”. Wish I had one. LOLOL

Ohhh, puppy breath!!! (I just love puppy breath.) What and incredible sweetie. I made the Garden Party Hat last spring — in cotton — it came out great. I never did get a picture of my niece in it, so my guess is she didn’t care for it. Darn. We can only try, eh?
Oh, and yes all the way on the crate training. Same as Kat says, Vincent still goes in his when he’s tired or nervous or just wants time away by himself. He’s 10, too.

We love Cavalieres and hope to get one some day. Aggie is beautiful! Crate training is the way to go, our Border Collie Chloe likes hers and it comes in handy when traveling, as it’s her home away from home. If you find the name of the blue sweater pattern, I’d love to know. Hope to see you at the 2006 NH Sheep and Wool.

Aggie is adorable and the last shot you posted is awesome! Do you scrapbook too? If you do, you will have to make a “baby book” for Aggie. Oh yes, the knitting content looks great! But I think everything is going to get less attention than Aggie for awhile! :o)
